Real Estate Concierge respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and how you can access or correct it.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to Real Estate Concierge (“we”, “us”, “our”), a personalised real estate concierge service operating on the Gold Coast, Queensland and in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, and to this website, realestateconcierge.au.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. The information we collect
We only collect information that we need in order to help you. Typically that is:
- your name, phone number and e-mail address;
- the suburb or postcode of the property you are buying or selling;
- details of your property, your timeframe, your budget and what you are hoping to achieve;
- notes from our conversations, so we can pick up where we left off;
- technical information your browser sends when you visit this site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view.
We do not ask for, and would prefer you did not send us, sensitive information such as health, financial account or identity-document details through this website.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you — through our online enquiry form, by phone, by e-mail, by text message, or in person. If someone refers you to us, we may receive your contact details from them; if that happens we will tell you who gave us your details the first time we speak.
4. Why we collect it
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange your free consultation;
- understand your needs and match you with suitable real estate agents or service providers;
- introduce you to those agents and coordinate the process on your behalf;
- keep in touch about your transaction and follow up afterwards;
- maintain our own business records and meet our legal obligations.
If you would rather we did not use your details for a particular purpose, tell us and we will respect that.
5. Who we share it with
The heart of our service is introducing you to the right agent, so with your knowledge and agreement we share relevant details with the real estate agents and professionals we recommend to you. We will always tell you who we are introducing you to before we pass anything on.
We may also disclose personal information to:
- service providers who help us run our business, such as our e-mail, website hosting and customer-management providers;
- our professional advisers, where we need advice; and
- anyone else where the law requires or permits it.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not provide it to third parties for their own marketing.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of the technology providers we rely on for e-mail and website hosting store data on servers outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How we protect it
Enquiries submitted through this website are transmitted over an encrypted connection and delivered to a password-protected mailbox. Our online form uses spam and abuse controls rather than tracking, and we keep records only for as long as we have a genuine business or legal need for them. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
8. Cookies and website analytics
This website is a static site and does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address as part of serving that request. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first.
9. Marketing
If we send you occasional updates, every message will include a simple way to unsubscribe, and we will act on that request promptly. You can also ask us to stop at any time by replying to any message or using the contact details below.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is out of date or inaccurate. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request, and we will only refuse access in the limited circumstances the Privacy Act allows — in which case we will explain why in writing.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please raise it with us first — e-mail hello@realestateconcierge.au and we will investigate and respond in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always appears on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
